Tom Taylor
Post digital designer
Profile:
Tom Taylor makes things that try to delight and disrupt, usually involving software and hardware glued to the internet somehow. He likes to think of the internet as the virtual shed at the bottom of his non-existent garden.
He's freelance, and one third of the Really Interesting Group, a multi-disciplinary organisation that does 'post-digital design', which is sort of about taking the web into the real world, and mostly seems to involve lots of printing.
He writes about his projects at http://tomtaylor.co.uk, and keeps an infrequent blog at http://scraplab.net.

Dear Jim, My take on Tom's prez, was that there is no online or off, there is only blended reality. Plugging the old into the new allows us to create artefacts that belong in today's world. For me it was a powerful metaphor of plugging lightweight communication technologies into the artillery guns of our mass media age. Well at least that what got me all excited. All good things Alan Moore SMLXL
what on earth is this guy's point? i love the do lectures but got really frustrated by this presentation. he presents lots of interesting things which in fact aren't interesting. it seems like he presents them in a bit of a vacuum too without any point or objective.
