Blanche Ellis

Visual artist, painter and musician.

Blanche Ellis is a visual artist, painter and musician who practices her art between London and Barcelona. Initially self taught and fascinated by faces and gestures, her studio was the London Underground where she learnt to capture fleeting glimpses and develop her sense of mark making. Having also studied more traditional techniques of oil painting and how to capture the fall of light, Blanche’s practice exists in building a bridge between these modes: between the primal, instinctive line and the delicate, analytical balance of colour, of light and dark.

An extension of her creative practice, she also works with businesses and organisations using live illustration, design and graphic recording techniques to facilitate conversations and distill complex ideas and conversations into captivating images. With a focus on social justice, gender equality, social entrepreneurship, sustainability, arts, education, and ethical technology, she has dedicated well over a decade to translating diverse concepts into visually compelling narratives.
