Claudia Pasquero

Architect, researcher and Ecological Systems Designer | DO Radio Guest 'Where To Next' with Mike Warwick

Catch Claudia on DO Radio Where To Next with Mike Warwick from 30 March to 05 April.

Claudia Pasquero is an architect, educator, and researcher exploring how humans might rediscover their conversation with the living world.

As co-founder of the international design practice ecoLogicStudio, which she leads with her partner Marco Poletto, Claudia works at the intersection of architecture, biotechnology, and digital design, creating spaces where people can interact with the hidden processes of life around them.

Her work spans scales and disciplines: from experimental installations in institutions such as the Louvre in Paris, to living architectural systems that cultivate microalgae to transform pollutants into useful materials.

Through these projects, Claudia challenges the traditional idea of architecture as a barrier between humans and nature, instead imagining buildings as soft, permeable interfaces that reconnect us with the biosphere.

Claudia’s perspective is rooted in her childhood on a farm in northern Italy, where she grew up surrounded by vineyards and agricultural rhythms. That early experience of working with living systems shaped her belief that knowledge comes not only from theory but from daily interaction with the materials and organisms around us.

Now teaching and researching internationally, she encourages students and collaborators to rethink humanity’s place in the world.

Rather than placing humans at the centre, Claudia advocates for a non-anthropocentric approach in which people are simply one of many organisms participating in a complex ecological network.

Her work invites a simple but radical shift in perspective: that by becoming gardeners and stewards of the environments immediately around us, we may begin to rediscover our place within the wider biosphere.
