What is DO Breakthrough?

When we start sorting our sh*t out, something happens. We feel we have taken control of our lives. And, it feels good. It is empowering. And it feels like at long last the words have stopped, and the action has begun. And then each day, things just get better.

You may have tried to make a change before, but for whatever reason, it just didn't stick. But, Breakthrough only happens when the desire is strong, and techniques are used which understand the human brain and how best to hack it. Old habits require new thinking.

We have spent over a decade listening to some of the most incredible speakers on the planet. They have shared their secrets and provided clues on how to Breakthrough when you feel stuck or on the cusp of making an important change.

This will be an incredible three days. Things will never be the same again.

Ideas + Energy = Change

This seminar has been ten years in the making. It does not rely on inspiration or motivation alone, but rather it pulls in pioneering thinking from leading human behaviour studies around the world. And, provides you with simple ways to apply them to your daily life.

Our desire to Breakthrough has always been strong, but the techniques we've used to make it happen have been weak. And so, mostly, we fail. But what if we learnt better methodologies, and applied them? Then we would start to see the results that we crave.

Willpower is sugar. It gives you a short burst of determination, but then it runs out of steam. Habits are hard to break because they have become a part of daily lives over a long period. Habits need a better technique than willpower alone can provide.

What if you could learn a set of techniques, practices, and methodologies that could deliver the Breakthrough you most want in all parts of your life? What if you could design, hack, build and maintain the life you most want?

This is an intimate three-day seminar all about getting our act together.

It is focused on three pillars of mastery. Think of them as the three legs on a stool. They allow us to concentrate on the problem in front of us, not underneath us.

Emotional Fitness
Lots of people go to a gym to make their body stronger. But what if each day you learnt how to make yourself emotionally stronger? What if you joined a gym for the mind.
Physical Fitness
If you want to be strong in mind, you need to be strong in body. How do you make your default to find time so that you make your body stronger, more flexible, leaner each day?
Financial Fitness
There will be those who are asking why is financial fitness one of the legs. It’s the thing we least want to talk about, and the thing we most worry about. That’s why.

I wrote a book (in draft). I found an agent. I started a podcast. And today I agreed a book deal with Penguin. So I’m starting 2020 in a completely different place. And it all started at Breakthrough.

Located on our beautiful farm in west Wales

It’s been a long time since the barns have seen any livestock, since the farm actually worked as a farm. We don’t know a whole lot about rearing animals - hey, it’s a tricky business - but we do know a thing or two about rearing great ideas. So we turned it into The Ideas Farm, where we feed dreams, not cows.

Perched atop a hill that offers near three-hundred-and-sixty degree views over Cardigan Bay and the lustrous undulating landscape of West Wales, outbuildings that have sat empty for years are being given a purpose again. The Chicken Shed is DO HQ, The Cow Barn will be our new Lecture Hall and where industrious machinery once churned will be a place for attendees and speakers to sit side by side over five star food and share their DO experience.

The Farm is the perfect setting to inspire your ideas, to nurture them and give you all the tools you need to go out there and make that idea happen.

David Hieatt has built brands from nothing with next to nothing, just by understanding a few basic rules of how to sell his story. Bankrupt at 16 and thrown out of college at 18. He joined Saatchi and Saatchi at 21. Had a ball. But after a decade or so, he left advertising to go back to Wales and build his own brands. He started howies in 1995. Sold it to Timberland. Left.
