What is DO Breakthrough?

When we start sorting our sh*t out, something happens. We feel we have taken control of our lives. And, it feels good. It is empowering. And it feels like at long last the words have stopped, and the action has begun. And then each day, things just get better.

You may have tried to make a change before, but for whatever reason, it just didn't stick. But, Breakthrough only happens when the desire is strong, and techniques used understand what it is to be human. Old habits require new ways.

We have spent over a decade listening to some of the most incredible speakers on the planet. They have shared their secrets and provided clues on how to Breakthrough when you feel stuck or on the cusp of making an important change.

This will be an incredible three and half days. Things will never be the same again.

Who is this for?

  • You could be running your own business and understand that for it to grow, you will have to grow first.
  • You could have a great career but have a yearning to do something else.
  • You could have raised some wonderful children and be thinking about what is next.
  • You could be repeating the same mistakes and just need some tools to help you.
  • You just want to learn how to get better at being you.
  • You have said ‘one day' too many times.
  • You want to say goodbye to your stuck self.

What will you learn?

  • Why changing a little will change a lot.
  • What drives you? What is stopping you?
  • How to use the subconscious and imagination to make change happen.
  • How to overcome limiting beliefs.
  • Why a commitment to yourself is so powerful.
  • Where your attention goes energy flows.
  • Why you should always start with the end in mind.
  • Where is your attention? Where does it need to be?
  • What are the human needs?
  • How to deal with a choice of should and must.
  • The battle between pain and pleasure.
  • Why prototyping the future you matters.
  • How to control your emotional states.
  • Why telling yourself a better story matters.
  • How to doubt your doubts
  • How to see the magic of today.

The three and a half days:

Workshop Days:

June 13–16

Friday June 14 - full day including dinner

Its human beings being human.

It’s you and it's us.

It’s space.

It’s the place.

The thinking

Presence + Intention x Action = Change

This workshop has been ten years in the making. It does not rely on inspiration or motivation. It pulls in pioneering thinking from leading human behaviour studies around the world and provides you with an ‘lived’ experience to apply in your daily life.

Desire to Breakthrough has always been strong, but the techniques used haven’t worked…habits are hard to break because they have become a part of daily lives over a long period. Habits need a better technique than willpower alone can provide to alter.

What if you could learn a set of techniques, practices, and methodologies that could deliver the Breakthrough you most want in all parts of your life? What if you could design, create, build and maintain the life you most want?

This is an intimate three-and-a-half day experience all about getting our act together focusing on pillars of mastery. You will leave having a real experience for you in your life.

I wrote a book (in draft). I found an agent. I started a podcast. And today I agreed a book deal with Penguin. So I’m starting 2020 in a completely different place. And it all started at Breakthrough.

I can honestly say that the three days of DO Breakthrough have changed my life. I returned to my world having shed long-held emotional luggage and, just as important, carrying a trunkload of practical and achievable tips on what to do next.

It was one of the best things I have ever done. The team helped me find ‘me’ again, acknowledge my fears and with that take the leap, professionally, that I knew I wanted to take, had to take, but without Do Breakthrough hadn’t been able to do.

While we were there it was an experience to grasp. Afterwards it gave me courage to make the changes I wanted to make. Our facilitators were so skilled at helping us open up, listen to each other, and learn.

I can genuinely say that attending DO Breakthrough has a positive impact on me every day.

Located on our beautiful farm in west Wales

It’s been a long time since the barns have seen any livestock, since the farm actually worked as a farm. We don’t know a whole lot about rearing animals - hey, it’s a tricky business - but we do know a thing or two about rearing great ideas. So we turned it into The Ideas Farm, where we feed dreams, not cows.

Perched atop a hill that offers near three-hundred-and-sixty degree views over Cardigan Bay and the lustrous undulating landscape of West Wales, outbuildings that have sat empty for years are being given a purpose again. The Chicken Shed is DO HQ, The Cow Barn will be our new Lecture Hall and where industrious machinery once churned will be a place for attendees and speakers to sit side by side over five star food and share their DO experience.

The Farm is the perfect setting to inspire your ideas, to nurture them and give you all the tools you need to go out there and make that idea happen.

Founder & Host

David Hieatt has built brands from nothing with next to nothing, just by understanding a few basic rules of how to sell his story. One sentence at a time.

Bankrupt at 16 and thrown out of college at 18. He joined Saatchi and Saatchi at 21. Had a ball. But after a decade or so, he left advertising to go back to Wales and build his own brands. He started howies in 1995. Sold it to Timberland. Left. Started The DO Lectures, which was voted one of the top 10 ideas festivals in the world by the Guardian.

And in 2012 started a company making jeans called The Hiut Denim Co. in his hometown of Cardigan. A town that used to have Britain’s biggest jeans factory. Its purpose is to get 400 people their jobs back. As of today, it now employs 27 people.

Gaye has worked in the corporate world for over three decades. Highly skilled in strategy development, strategic visualisation and creating experiences that deliver to purpose, she first collaborated with DO in 2017 supporting on Teen DO, then the DO Lectures and DO Breakthrough.

Curiosity lead her to further leadership training in the USA with the intention of rooting her leadership skills in a more human centred practice to facilitate others to fulfil their full potential, individually and by working together.

She is now creating spaces and places of authentic meeting where those there can experience themselves, explore the barriers to the expression of their full potential, be in the discovery of new possibilities and, with kindness and compassion, support their individual breakthroughs for full living.

Gaye is most at home in wild places, immersed in water, smelling of smoke, moon gazing and will never say no to good coffee and dark chocolate!

Hilary spent 25 years getting really good at stuff. First a lawyer, then a negotiator then a commercial director. Once he’d realised all his dreams, he quit.

Fortunately, on the way, he qualified as an executive coach and for the last 11 years has been helping others, whilst finding out what he really wants to do.

Hilary wrote a book called “The Power of Soft” which is about how you get what you want without being a ****. He also wrote one about fear called “Fear Hack” which is very loosely based on a workshop he runs.

Married with two adult children, he lives in Suffolk. He mucks around with boats and is now taking his coaching onto the water.
