Andrew Sheldon

Digital Forensics Specialist | Do Radio Guest, Tomorrow's Word with Jon Kaye

Catch Andrew Sheldon on Do Radio: Tomorrow's Word with Jon Kaye 8th - 14th June 2026.

Andrew Sheldon is a digital forensics specialist with more than 30 years’ experience investigating what technology can reveal.

One of the early figures in forensic computing, Andrew has conducted thousands of digital examinations and worked across the evolution of the field: from personal computers and mobile devices to the complex digital traces left behind by modern life. He retired in 2025 from his role as Director of Innovation at one of Europe’s largest digital forensic laboratories, and is recognised for his work in digital triage, forensic tools and the practical realities of investigating crime in a world where almost everything now leaves a data trail.

Andrew has also been a speaker at industry conferences, a contributor to legal reference work on electronic evidence, and a long-time voice in the conversation around how digital evidence is collected, understood and used. His work sits in that fascinating space where technology, law, human behaviour and truth all collide.

In this episode of Tomorrow’s World, Jon talks to Andrew about digital forensics, cybercrime, privacy, evidence, and what our devices know about us. A conversation about technology, but also about trust: what we leave behind, who gets to see it, and how the digital world has changed the way we understand what really happened.
