Social Enterprise Leader | DO Radio Guest, Making Stuff Up with Jon Kaye and Alan Wick
Liz Warner - DO Radio

Catch Liz on DO Radio, Making Stuff Up with Jon Kaye and Alan Wick 08-14 June.

Liz Warner is a media and social enterprise leader whose career has sat at the intersection of storytelling, public purpose and commercial reality.

She founded the television production company Betty, growing it from a start-up into a major UK independent before its sale to Discovery Communications.

She later became CEO of Comic Relief, where she led work to modernise the charity, expand its digital fundraising, strengthen safeguarding, and respond to changing public expectations around charity, representation and impact.

Today Liz is co-founder and CEO of Different Kind, a social enterprise retail platform connecting customers with ethical products and gifts from socially motivated producers.

DO Radio Show Notes

In this conversation, Jon Kaye and Alan Wick explore Liz’s journey from television to charity leadership to ethical retail, and ask what it really takes to make kindness operational rather than decorative.

Her work raises practical questions at the heart of the premise of the “Quarterly Bottom Line” show for Making Stuff Up: how do you build something with real purpose, treat people well, take environmental responsibility seriously, and still make the model commercially viable?
