Richard Hawkins is a sports scientist and performance consultant who spent 17 years at Manchester United, working at the heart of elite football during a period of intense technological and cultural change. His career spans the evolution of sports science from early heart-rate monitoring to today’s data-rich performance environments.
Richard is deeply interested in how technology can support, rather than override, the human side of sport. He speaks about leadership, teamwork, and culture, and why understanding players’ internal stress and psychological load is just as important as tracking physical output. Now working in consultancy, he focuses on helping teams balance data, trust, and human connection to build sustainable high performance.
