Simon Waller is an Australian futurist, keynote speaker, strategic advisor and author who helps leaders make better decisions in uncertain times.
Based in Melbourne, Simon’s work sits at the intersection of future thinking, scenario planning, strategy and technology. After leaving the corporate world in 2010, he has built a reputation for what he describes as practical futurism: helping organisations think more clearly about what might be coming next, so they can make better decisions today.
Simon is also the author of several books, including The Scenario Planning Guide, Digital Champion and Analogosaurus, which explore decision-making, technology-driven change and how organisations can use digital tools more purposefully. He also hosts The Future With Friends, a podcast where guests imagine possible futures and explore what those futures might reveal about the choices we are making now.
In this episode of Tomorrow’s World, Jon talks to Simon about futurism without the hype, how to think about technology without being distracted by shiny predictions, and why the future is less about guessing what happens next and more about asking better questions of the present.
A conversation about technology, uncertainty and imagination and about how we prepare for a world that refuses to sit still.
