Farmer, Activist, Director of Greenhorns

"How do we involve more people in caring for the land, and how do we involve more people in behaving in a way that helps the land."

Severine von Tscharner Fleming is an organic farmer, young farmers advocate, publisher and organizer based in Downeast Maine.

She is the director of Greenhorns, a grassroots young farmers cultural organisation which produces a journal for working agrarians called the New Farmers Almanac.

Her work has spanned many media to celebrate, bundle and broadcast the voices and life-ways of young agrarians, from films, radio, blog gossip, guidebooks, an anthology, 2 new farmers almanacks, and newly, a mixtape and vinyl record!

Severine travels and speaks nationally and internationally on land access, food sovereignty, and the needs and vision of the incoming generation of farmers and ranchers. She is currently at work on a book about Land Reform.
