Sam Pearce invented and developed loopwheels in his home in Nottinghamshire, England. By training and profession, Sam is a mechanical engineer and industrial designer, but by nature he is someone who loves making things: designing, building, doing. He loves the way things fit together, the way things work and the way things are made.
He first had the idea of a wheel with integral suspension in 2007. He made his first basic prototype in 2009, but it took four years of development and testing to create 'loopwheel'.
In 2015, Sam used Kickstarter to raise funds for a wheelchair specific design, which was shortlisted in the transport category of the Design of the Year award.
In 2020, Sam founded Sam Pearce Design as a vehicle to create new IPR and help develop design solutions for a more environmentally sustainable age.
