How Books Can Inspire Action

Business
Miranda West
Co-founder and Publisher at The Do Book Co.
“The right book, in the hands of the right person at the right time in their lives can change the direction of their lives.”

Miranda has worked in the book industry for over 20 years, from indie publishers to Penguin Random House.

Remembering she once told her school teachers that she’d like to work ‘in business’ (whatever that meant), she thought she’d better get on with it.

After watching a DO Lecture online back in 2011, Miranda got in touch with an idea... and went on to set up DO Book Co.

Since launch in 2013, titles have been featured in the Guardian, Observer and FT; are now stocked by the Design Museum, MOMA and the Tate and are distributed in the UK, US and Australia.

It has been, in equal measure, much harder and more rewarding than she imagined.
