The five whys is an iterative technique used to solve problems.

By repeatedly asking the question why, you can peel away the layers of symptoms which can lead to the root cause of a problem.

You will find what you look for.

The brain is hard wired to find problems. Since the cave it has been programmed to save your butt. Fight or flight is there to protect us from saber-tooth tigers. If you decide that someone doesn’t like you, your brain will help you build the case that this is, of course, actually the case. If you say to yourself this is going to be one of those days, the brain will build that case for you. If we tell ourselves it is going to be tough, the brain will go and find the evidence that this is the case.

Maybe, it’s time to reframe how you look at things.
