'Running Man' Charlie Engles is a recovering addict-alcoholic, choosing sobriety over addiction on July 23, 1992. Since that day, Charlie has challenged himself to experience all that life has to offer.
He knows what it’s like to run America. He knows what it’s like to run the Sahara Desert. In fact, he has become one of the most accomplished ultra-marathon runners in the world.
Charlie is also a filmmaker and television producer, a mountaineer, a whitewater fanatic, a cyclist, a juggler and a professional ping pong player.
Most recently, Charlie served 18 months in Beckley Federal Prison, following a conviction for allegedly overstating his income on a home loan application.
