When Kamal was just 6 years old country of Lebanon was plunged into a state of war. Although only 200km by 50km, it became impossible to travel between areas as neighbours became enemies - a reality he could never understand.

And so when the fighting eventually came to an end and the country opened up, with rivalries dissipating, Kamal set about exploring how the country's people could begin to connect once more. To meet together and celebrate their differences and similarities.

The answer he found lay in food... the most sincere and authentic expression of people and place.
