My Strength Was To Get To The Truth Of What Happened

Social change
Margaret Aspinall
Chairman of the Hillsborough Family Support Group
“Be true to yourselves and help others, because what we’re doing now is no good for us, but hopefully for the future of this country it’s going to help others.”

In 1989, Margaret's 18-year old son, James, was one of the 96 football fans who lost their lives in the Hillsborough Disaster.

In a moving and inspiring talk, she shares the story of the 28 years she has spent since, seeking the truth about what happened at the stadium and campaigning tirelessly for justice.

Her drive, her resilience and her quest for honesty is a true inspiration.
