Krust (born Kirk Thompson) grew up in Knowle West, Bristol, where breakdancing and early hip-hop shaped his first love for sound. He started out with the crew Fresh 4, hitting the UK Top 10 in 1989 with a cover of Wishing on a Star. But it was what came next that made his name.
He became a pioneer of the drum & bass movement, co‑founding Full Cycle Records with Roni Size, DJ Die, and Suv, and releasing now-classic tracks like Warhead, Soul in Motion, and True Stories. As part of the Mercury Prize-winning Reprazent collective, he helped push jungle into new territory, both musically and culturally.
Krust took a long break from music in the 2000s to dive deep into psychology and wellness. He launched a CBD brand and started mentoring other creatives through his company Disruptive Patterns. He now runs the company Adapt the Canvas to help individuals and teams unlock their creative potential and thrive in the creator economy.
Then in 2020, he returned to music with The Edge of Everything, his first album in 14 years. No nostalgia, no compromise, just pure cinematic ambition from one of electronic music’s most original thinkers.
