Amelia has run Ynyshir Restaurant and Rooms near Machynlleth since 2016, taking on a beautiful old hotel and restaurant with her Partner and Chef Gareth Ward. Trained as an Architect in Nottingham and working for Architype in Hereford, one of the UK’s leading green building practices, she never intended to take this path, however when the opportunity arose to create something unique in the heart of Wales there was no question.


Over the past 9 years they have taken the little known restaurant to the world stage, entering all restaurant guides and even topping some. They have completely transformed the image of the place, refurbishing and constantly evolving the building and the offering, and it’s still a work in progress. She currently runs the business as well as leads the creative development, alongside being a mum to their 5 year old son.
